Grill, Dine, and Gather Al Fresco

Homeowners want to have it all and we make it Native Design & Hardscape's mission to give the homeowner what they want.

For this project in Knoxville, TN, the homeowners desired an open space to grill, entertain, and garden. Owner and Senior Designer, Jacob Dunaway met with the homeowners to gather their wish list and designed their outdoor space. Starting from the top, this outdoor space has a beautiful pressure-treated pine pergola stained in dark walnut.

This pergola provides some relief from afternoon sun but maintains the "open" feeling the homeowner wanted. A pull down screen was installed above the grill for extra shade, when needed.

The outdoor kitchen was constructed with General Shale brick veneer to match the home's existing brick. Countertop was sourced using grey Tennessee Crab Orchard Flagstone. The space was finished with a stainless steel grill, adjacent double side burner, and a weather-controlled storage drawers.

Per the homeowner's request, a garden was built at the entrance to this outdoor space to allow the homeowner to grow and harvest fresh herbs for meal prep.

The top-to-bottom attention to detail to this outdoor kitchen finished with the flooring. Instead of leaving it as plain concrete, ceramic tile was laid down. Installing a tile floor helped define this outdoor space as an elegant outdoor living, grilling, and al fresco room.
